Predictions for 2008

On the January 7, 2008 "Richard Syrett Show" (News Talk 1010 CFRB, Toronto, Canada) Douglas made the following predictions for 2008:

Politics
Hillary Clinton will be the President of the United States. I believe she is going to win big. This is a prediction I made before she was even elected Senator.

There might be an assassination attempt on President G. W. Bush this year. I saw him sitting with his father at a press conference.

China will be in the news at it takes over resource companies around the world.

There is a bomb in the Middle East, that will go off. If it doesn't happen this year, it might take 2 or 3 years before that happens.

Economy
Real estate prices will be going up this year.

Gold and silver will be up (as I?ve predicted before). Gold will be up to $900.00 easily this year and silver will probably hit over $20.

There will be a huge discovery of diamonds this year, mostly in Africa and places where they are not expected to be found.

Gasoline will hit $5.00 per gallon, which will mean that oil will probably touch somewhere between $140 and $150 a barrel. This might happen a bit later than 2008, or it may indeed happen this year.

In the 1970s I predicted that interest rates would go from 6% to 26% and people thought I was mad. Then I predicted that they would go down about 3%. Now I'm predicting that interest rates will go up to 30% plus. This won't all take place in 2008, we are in steady inflationary times, so it might take a little longer than a year.

I recently saw in a dream that GST would be altered or changed again - despite the Prime Minister's claims that he won't be touching the GST anymore. GST will not be charged to purchases under $7.66 (or perhaps $76.00).

South America will be a booming economy. Business and tourism will be up.

In North America, the farmers, especially the grain farmers will be doing very well this year. Excellent prices in Soya beans and grain. The cattle farmers will be sending their herds out early for some reason, not quite sure why.

Uranium prices should be going up a lot this year.

Environment
There will be more leaks from the Chernobyl disaster, which will be found in the water, causing contamination in Europe.

Sunspot activity will be up this year. I clearly saw two large sunspots.

There might be a tsunami on the west coast of Canada. This might not quite happen this year, but it is going to happen.

Health
There will be huge advances in autism this year, understanding its causes as well as discovering the cure for this disease.

There will be advances in laser light therapy and using the frequency of light to cure diseases on the microscopic or atomic level.

People & Entertainment
I had a vision of Oprah hanging onto somebody around the neck. She's smiling with tears in her eyes and something wonderful is going to happen. I didn't quite see what it was though. It was a tall man, and could be Barack Obama. Possibly, he will be Vice-president.

It might not happen this year, but the British crown will be passed to Prince William who will be married to a blond lady and she will be the next queen of England. Prince Charles will be bypassed.

I saw mud on the face of Lou Dobbs, from CNN. He is going to be publicly disgraced somehow or at least embarrassed. Perhaps his comments about immigration will back-fire on him.

Actor Will Smith may have a terrible accident.

Singer Shania Twain will be coming out with a new method of singing, which will be very well received. It will be something more like a humming and a chanting; a whole new angelic kind of singing for her.

Evidence will be discovered either this year or in the coming years that there was another man and a woman at the Simpson murder scene.

Cowboy tricks will be a fad this year - lassoes and whips - more than just boots and hats.
